Product Care and Sizing

The Nature of Handmade Jewelry

While I do keep a number of pieces on hand, most hammered and hand-stamped jewelry is only created once your order is placed.  Each piece will be unique and may differ slightly from the images shown. I make zero guarantees on centering, spacing, or any other particulars other than that the phrase you order will be the phrase you receive. I am a human hammering every letter into your piece individually and the "flaws" are what make your piece unique.

Sizing

All necklaces have an 18" chain unless otherwise stated in the description.

"Regular" cuffs are 1/4" wide. "Skinny" cuffs range from 1/8"-3/16" wide. All cuffs by default are 6" long, which fits most wrists.

Regular cuffs are available in 7" length by special order, just add a Customization Fee of $10 on top of your cuff order and let me know in the Order Notes that you want it made on a 7" cuff.

Cuffs can be easily adjusted slightly up or down in size. However, almost all metal will break if bent or stressed beyond its limits.  Do no over-adjust your jewelry.

Metals Guide

Profound Sass pieces are made from metals that are lead- and nickel-free.

  • Aluminum and stainless steel will never tarnish or change color.
  • Brass and copper will develop a patina over time, making each piece completely unique to your individual biochemistry.
  • Sterling silver jewelry may tarnish if unworn or left in a damp location.
  • Gold-filled jewelry has a pressure bonded layer of gold that has 100 times more gold than gold plated jewelry. It is tarnish-resistant and will last for years if cared for properly.

If you prefer a non-patina look to your piece, rub it gently with a jewelry polishing cloth and keep it in a sealed container when not worn.

Maintaining Your Jewelry

As noted above, you can use a jewelry polishing cloth on any metal jewelry to keep it looking polished and untarnished. The ink I use for my pieces is actually just Sharpie! I use Sharpies because normal wear-and-tear on almost ANY non-toxic coloring agent will cause it to fade, most people have access to Sharpies and it's super easy to fill it back in and wipe it off with a wet paper towel. Some of you may prefer the look of it uninked, so once it fades you are even happier with the product! I use oil-based Sharpies but regular Sharpies will work just fine as well :)
